Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu is a distinction graduate of Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Nigerian Law School. He bagged a first class degree in Law and was best grandaunt and multiple awards winner from both Institutions. He thereafter obtained a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Law from Harvard Law School USA, with distinctions.
He has worked as an Investment Attorney in USA, as General Counsel with Texaco Upstream and Downstream in Nigeria and is now Executive Vice Chairman of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited and General Counsel for Exxon Mobil Nigeria affiliate Upstream and Downstream Companies in Nigeria.
He has forayed into business, working as Chairman and CEO of his own Companies in Downstream Petroleum, Law Practice and Consultancy and Publishing. He has lectured in Nigeria, at Harvard and various Institutions around the world as either a visiting lecturer or professor in Law.
He has three published law books in Investment Law and Contracts and numerous articles in various Journals. In his capacity as General Counsel of Exxon Mobil in Nigeria, he oversees the compliance programs of Exxon Mobil in Nigeria and advices on issues related to adherence with compliance regulations and Anti-Corruption Laws for the company in Africa.
Mr Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan is a Petrochemist by profession who joined the DPR in November 1987 as a Senior Analytical Chemist and was deployed to the Safety & Environment Branch under the then Technical Services Division. He rose through the ranks to occupy various key positions within the organization including Zonal Operations Controller, DPR Kaduna. Having attained the rank of Deputy Director, he was appointed Head of the Downstream Monitoring & Regulation Division from October 2005 to June 2013. Thereafter, he was appointed Head of the Gas Monitoring & Regulation Division from June 2013 to May 2014. Then lastly he was appointed as the Head of the Safety, Health & Environment Division in May 2014 until his current appointment as the Acting Director then Director of Petroleum Resources.
David is Founder and CEO of GasInvest Limited. He has over 23-years industry experience spanning both the private and public sector. He was the immediate past Group Executive Director – Gas & Power, at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) between 2011-2015. Previously, David also worked as Petroleum Engineer with Shell International Petroleum Company (Netherlands, Scotland & Nigeria) and in Strategy consulting with Accenture UK, in London. He also served as Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and was pioneer Managing Director of the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria.
David has driven efforts in developing Nigeria’s gas policy and its implementation. He is the architect of the Nigerian Gas master plan and led its implementation, including pricing methodologies, market and infrastructure development. As part of the Gas Master-plan effort, he conceived the idea of the Gas Revolution Industrial park at Ogidigben, Delta State and played a key role in securing investors for fertilizer, petrochemical and methanol plant for the project. Whilst in NNPC, he also had the responsibility to drive NNPC’s gas and power agenda, in terms of market development and capture. He held diverse Board Positions including Chairman of the West African Gas Pipeline Company, Board member of the Brass LNG company, Chairman of the Nigerian Shipping and Manning Company (subsidiary of NLNG). David has significant knowledge and experience of the gas industry.
David holds a First-Class BSc (Mech. Eng.) from the University of Lagos, PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University, UK and an MBA from University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
