Dr. Ainojie ‘Alex’ Irune is the Chief Operating Officer, Oando Energy Resources (OER). Prior to assuming this role in 2018, he was the Chief Strategy & Corporate Services Officer at Oando PLC from 2016 to 2018. He also served as the Head of Corporate Communications from 2013 to 2016, where he oversaw all internal and external brand-building efforts across the company’s business entities.
Dr. Irune spearheaded the global communications strategy following Oando’s successful $1.5bn acquisition of ConocoPhillips Nigeria’s upstream assets. Recently, he re-enacted these efforts in the wake of a $210 million strategic partnership between Oando Downstream, Vitol and Helios Investment Partners to create OVH Energy; and a $115.8 million Midstream alliance between Oando Gas & Power and Helios.
Prior to his time at Oando PLC in 2011, Dr. Irune worked in the United Kingdom as an In-Vehicle Systems Designer with Nissan, Honda, and Jaguar Land Rover and graduated from the University of Nottingham with a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 2002, and attained his PhD in Computer Science from the same university in 2009.
Bismarck J. Rewane is a graduate of Economics from the University of Ibadan and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Bankers. He has attended various courses and training at the international level.
He has more than thirty years experience as an Economist, Banker & Financial Analyst having worked in various establishments ranging from multinational companies to locally-based organizations. In 1976-1989 he worked with The First National Bank of Chicago as Deputy Manager before proceeding to International Merchant Bank Nig. Limited where he held various positions from Asst. General Manager to General Manager. He co-established Financial Derivatives Company Limited in 1996.
Bismarck J. Rewane is the Managing Director/CEO of Financial Derivatives Company Limited in Lagos, Nigeria, a macro-economic research and financial advisory firm. The firm has advised most top drawer companies on policy and macro-economic scenarios in Nigeria. It has just been appointed as Financial Consultants to the newly elected Nigerian Football Federation.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of some multinational & Nigerian companies including Navgas (a subsidiary of Vitol – the largest oil trading company in the world), Top Feeds Nigeria Limited & Delta Packaging Nigeria Limited (subsidiaries of Seaboard Allied Company of Kansas City Missouri), FCMB Group & Whyte Cleon Limited. He was appointed the Chairman of PTAC (Presidential Technical Advisory Committee) on the Implementation of the New Minimum Wage in 2019 and he is also a member of the presidential Economic Advisory Council.
Mr. Rewane is a part time facilitator of the Macro-economic programme at the Lagos Business School, Executive Breakfast Session and a renowned and acclaimed commentator on contemporary political and economic issues.
An astute Banking/Finance professional with over 19 years’ experience, adept at deal origination to execution across the Oil & Gas value chain; working through complex legal, commercial and financial agreements with transaction parties across multi-cultural jurisdictions.
Her current role sits within the Corporate Banking Directorate with concurrent oversight for the same business within the Commercial/Retail Banking SBUs in Nigeria, African subsidiaries and United Kingdom under the Global Account Management structure.
Prior to this, she was Business Manager, Energy covering most of the Bank’s Upstream portfolio. Under her purview, transactions worth billions of US Dollars were consummated via bilateral and syndicated debt finance for the acquisition of on shore/off-shore producing assets divested by IOCs like Shell, Chevron, Agip and ConocoPhillips in Nigeria.
Oluwatoyin holds a B.SC in Agric. Economics from the University of Ibadan, an MBA (Finance) from Manchester Business School UK and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Also a member of the Energy Institute UK and the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA). She has been speaker and moderator at various Multi-national Oil & Gas and Technology Conferences.
Seyi Bella is a partner at Banwo & Ighodalo, one of the leading law firms in Nigeria. Seyi’s core areas of practice are Corporate and Project Finance, Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions and Fintech. In this regard, she has rendered legal advice to many corporates (including Nigerian companies and multinationals), international banks and financial institutions; and has been involved in some of the highest-profile transactions in corporate Nigeria. Although her practice focuses on secured lending and asset finance, the advice she provides to clients cuts across several sectors, including oil and gas (reserve based lending), real estate and construction, telecoms, power etc.
