Secretary to the Corporation
Chidi Momah has been a lawyer for over 33 years, having been called to the Nigerian Bar in 1983 and the New York Bar in 1991. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Nigeria, Enugu in 1982 and took a Master’s Degree in Law from Georgetown University, Washington DC, in 1992.
Following a stint in private legal practice, Chidi joined Elf Petroleum Nigeria Ltd in 1992 as a Legal Officer. In the course of his 23 year stay in Elf Petroleum – now Total E&P Nigeria Limited – he served in many different capacities including being General Counsel and General Manager, Business Development and 2 stints on secondment in Nigeria LNG Ltd.
He has a unique view of the reforms being carried out in the Nigerian Petroleum Sector, having first been a long term member of the private sector industry PIB review team while in Total and now from the Government and public sector perspective.
Chidi retired in 2015 from Total as the Executive General Manager, Government Relations and Communications to join the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, where he is currently the Secretary to the Corporation.
